A Review of The Jungle Book
by Luke W.
The Jungle Book features a boy named Mowgli (Neel Sethi), who was raised by wolves because his original father was killed by a tiger named Shere Khan (Idris Elba). A panther saw what happened and came to recover Mowgli. The panther's named was Bagheera (Ben Kingsley).
Once that happened, Mowgli was in the hands of the wolves and the pack leader Akela (Giancarlo Esposito). They taught him the ways of the wolves and how to fight. After a few years, Shere Khan comes back for Mowgli and wants to kill him. Akela tells him to go back to the man village and be a normal person again. Mowgli runs away despite wanting to stay. He wants to find food and gives some to a few critters. The critters take the food and bring him to a snake, Kaa (Scarlett Johansson) that almost kills him.
Then a bear named Baloo (Bill Murray) saves Mowgli's life. To return the favor, Baloo orders Mowgli to climb a cliff to get honey for the bear. Once Bagheera finds out, he is very upset, and Baloo tells Mowgli to leave, insulting him. An ape named King Louie (Christopher Walken) captures Mowgli. He escapes, but he runs into the tiger.
I'll stop there and won't say anything else to spoil it.
The remake of Disney's The Jungle Book is a very well written and acted movie. I would recommend this movie to many people because of the action involved. If you have seen the original Jungle Book, you would know the plot already, but if you have not seen it yet, then it will leave you with many questions that will soon be answered.
The actors did a great job voicing all of the characters, and Mowgli, was acted well by Neel Sethi. I am especially proud of the director (Jon Favreau), who did great job with the CGI. The effects were very well done, and I think the money on those effects was spent well.
I would see this movie for sure if I were you because of the plot twists and action of the movie. The remake is very similar to the original, and it is also much like Tarzan. It is one of the much better remakes in the movies and the best one right now based on other reviews, so you should go out and see it. A-
